Philippe Goulley has made a wonderful, organic Chablis that starts with a clean and sprightly mineralogy and

Lovely plummy finish, a big southern hemisphere Merlot. Run by a different branch of the
Cointreau family who own Gosset Champagne and Frapin Cognac.

Garnet in colour, with lots of ripe hints of orange peel and spices. Great with venison, duck or lamb.

209. 2009 Domaine Despagne Rapin, Saint Emilion, France Les Piliers de Maison Blanche  £34.50
A classic claret blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Black fruit on the nose and full and round in the mouth with
elegant tannins that add rather than detract. A wine for red meats, particularly if accompanied by a sauce.

Barrel-aged red with a hint of tobacco and oak which is from the flatlands of Puglia showing flavours of
plum, blackberry and spice with slight peppery lift. Good to pair with robust food!

Good cru Bourgeois. An under rated year, drinking well now. Good value Claret.

Grenache 80% and Syrah 15%, based little brother of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A full on wine.

Bursting with blackberry and raspberry fruit, the palate is clean, intense and persistent. Perfectly balanced with soft
velvety tannins it is delicious from start to the long finish.

Beautifully scented, this is classic Chambolle, with plenty of fruit.

Intense and juicy, aromatic blackcurrant fruit, with velvety soft tannins and attractive toasty oak.
Dense, yet fresh and easy-going with a big focus on fruit.

220. 2013/14 Malbec, Kaiken Ultra Mendoza, Argentina £32.00
This is a powerful and lively Argentine Malbec, filled with berries, plums, subtle pepper and rosemary,
finishing with black fruit, vanilla and tobacco.

Intriguing herbal and spice notes before juicy, ripe raspberry flavours and a beetroot earthiness.

223. 2012 Crozes Hermitage Rouge, Nicolas Perrin, Northern Rhône, France £39.00
With a rich bouquet of red fruit, this Syrah from the Northern Rhône is balanced and concentrated, full of cherries and plums. Silver Medal – International Wine Challenge

 234. 2004 Château Coufran, Merlot, Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, France £44.00

This wine has a soft, fleshy and ample feel, combining soft bramble and ripe plum flavours withsmooth tannins.  Subtle cedar and leaf aromas complete the picture

                                                                      235.2014 Quinto Arrio Tinto, Organic Rio      £22.00                                                                                                               Warm and inviting on the nose, this Rioja is incredibly sumptuous for this level. With the faint hint of vanilla and oak, it’s mostly intense, ripe and very pure black cherry and spicy fruit. It’s easy to drink and tastes great over several days.

236.2014 Pinot Noir Précoce, White Castle Vineyard, Abergavenny, Wales  £33.00 

Vintage 2014 Pinot Noir Précoce gives a fabulous complex bouquet of dark, red berries with layers of mineral nuances.  Juicy lush generous and complex on the palate, with generous oak and ripe, fine tannins. 

237.2014 Rondo, White Castle Vineyard, Abergavenny, Wales   £32.00  

  The 2014 vintage is made from the Rondo grape. The red berry fruit aromas and so tannins are complemented by the subtle use of French Oak barrels. The result is a classic medium bodied red wine.

 238.2013 Esporão Reserva Red, Alentejo, Portugal    £40.00  

Silky, elegant red with berried fruits, rich and complex palate and well integrated new oak. David Baverstock, the Godfather of modern Portuguese wines, is the winemaker here.

 239. 2008 Chateau Mouchet, Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion £32.00 

This wine offers ripe plum flavours with intense hints of clove and vanilla. Now reaching full maturity this is soft, silky and delicious. This will be great with rare roast beef, lamb or game.

  125. 2013 Meursault, Les Grands Charrons 1er, Dom. Pascal Prunier-Bonheur, Burgundy,  France £58.00                                  White fruit aromas, with intense minerality. Classic, voluptuous Meursault from an up and coming producer.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

134. 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, Devil`s Corner, Tasmania, Australia    £32.00

A beautifully made Tasmanian Sauvignon Blanc at a great price! Devil’s Corner has a terrific concentration of passion fruit and citrus on the palate. Crisp finishing with great balance leaving the flavours to linger in the mouth.

135. 2014 Vignerons Ardéchois Ardeche Orélie Blanc, Rhone, France   £39.00

             A delicious blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay! The wine is very expressive of its environment and reveal vibrant flavours of passion fruit and gooseberry, right through to freshly-cut grass and more refined mineral characteristics. Enjoy with your meal or just on its own.

RED WINES

211.  2009 Château Musar, Gaston Hochar`s, Lebanon £54.00

Fabulous, complex Lebanese classic. Very ripe fruit, with spice and leather. Needs no further introduction.

 218.  2008 Chambolle Musigny, Juliette Chenu, Burgundy, France £58.00

Beautifully scented, this is classic Chambolle, with plenty of fruit.

 225. 2012 Amarone, Alpha Zeta, Veneto, Italy  £58.00

               Deep and intense with dried cherries and blueberries, spiced autumn fruit compote and savoury cherry fruit character.                           Italy’s unique style.

240.   2012 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Telegramme, Domaine du Vieux Telegraph  £69.00

The Telegramme is amazingly fresh and minerally for a Châteauneuf du Pape, with vibrant red fruit aromas,  juicy berry flavours on the palate and layers of clove, star anise and pepper.

   241.  2005 Domaine du Colombier, Hermitage, Rhone Valley, France £98.00

               This is one of France’s most enduringly prestigious wines. Well-wrapped up nose – a good, rather smoky and rocky.   The red fruit on the palate has a steely, tight composition, but it is attractive and stylish.              

 242.  2010 Château Tour du Pas, Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion, France £55.00

               This is the fifth most highly rated Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion wine. Very dark hue. Profound, elegant nose marrying dark fruits and subtle mineral, roasted oak. On the palate, wonderful stuffing, a harmonious wine revealing  complementary fruit and oak aromas carrying on over an already lengthy aftertaste.

              243.  2013 Langmeil Three Gardens Shiraz-Grenache-Mourvedre £50.00

               Medium bodied in structure with good complexity and lovely silky tannins which flow through the fruitful and spicy finish. Lifted, fresh and bright fruit leaps out of the glass with Raspberry and Blood Plums dominating the aroma with subtle savoury and white pepper hints.

               244. 2013 La Crema Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley Sonoma Coast  £89.00

              Veiled in fog, Russian River Valley vines offer concentrated, small berries bursting with flavour. Black cherry, ripe plum, rich spice, plush texture and structured tannins. All in all broad, concentrated, and lingering wine. The bold red fruits  in this Pinot Noir pair nicely with meat dishes as well as chocolate desserts.

               245. 2012 Côtes du Rhône E. Guigal, France  £32.00

               This full-bodied Côtes du Rhone offers a robust core of dark fruit, and savoury white pepper notes that make it a superb food wine. Try with any red meat dishes or with rich vegetarian dishes like cheese soufflé.

        246. 2005 Château Montviel Magnum Pomerol, France  £95.00

               It is considered the finest wine yet made under the administration of Catherine Pere-Verge, the 2005 Montviel’s supple tannins and lovely plum, black raspberry, and cherry fruit are delicious as well as seductive. It exhibits good density along with excellent purity and balance.
